Happy One Year

April 2009 Travel Group!

The weekend of May 15th we had a great time traveling to Dublin Ohio to reunite with the four families we traveled to China with last year. Everyone was able to make it, even Aunt Sue who traveled to China with us to help out with the girls! It was so nice to see everyone again. It was especially great to see how well our children have adapted to their new families.

May 4, 2009 . . . . . Jie Jie was place in my arms sound asleep and continued to sleep throughout the bus ride back to our hotel . . . and then another hour after that! We all nervously waited for her to wake up and meet her forever family.

Miraculously, after a few tears of anxiety and confusion . . . she accepted us right away and it wasn't long before we got our first smile from her!

A year later Jie Jie continues to bless us with her smile every day!


Tonight we celebrated Jie's special day with a dinner out with Aunt Sue. It's so hard to believe it was only one year ago that we all traveled to China together to bring Jie Jie home. It seems like she has been with us forever!
